Angry getting email from cancelled sbcglobal account?

ok, here's the deal. my mom had an sbcglobal account for years and i had a screen name under hers. she moved and kinda left me with nothing, but said she'd keep the account so i didn't have to worry about transfering everything since i had no internet connection where i was staying. well i finally moved somewhere i did, but i found out that she cancelled her account. i have alot of important personal emails saved, important emails like product keys, online receipts... stuff i need. yahoo told me that my first login attempt after the account was cancelled i should have gotten a screen prompting me to transfer all my saved emails to a new account... but i never got that screen... and those mythical second tear support people seem to always be gone or not working... what can i do? thanks
