New Yahoo News displays wrong weather info, Yahoo won't fix.
Since Yahoo installed this latest change to their News section, the front page news.yahoo.com has displayed a different city in the weather section than that which I specify in my preferences. The city displayed there is different from my personal account information, different than the editable preferences anywhere in Yahoo including right there from that info's edit button, and different than any other display or edit of "my weather cities" throughout the rest of Yahoo/MyYahoo.
Trying to communicate this database programming error to Yahoo's outsourced overseas "customer service" via email is, to say the least, a headache. They clearly don't understand at all, and rather than admit that or escalate the issue to the correct real IT department for the necessary quick fix, they send back emails telling me variously my Zip code (duh!), that I'm contacting the wrong department in error, and other unrelated nonsense. So far, I'm on email interaction number six, seven, or eight, I've lost count. They respond from news-admin@yahoo-inc.com, which is just a complete joke.
I did a search on "Yahoo Customer Service nightmare" and got back 182,000 results. The search that brought me here was "Yahoo customer service phone number". It figures that it's not toll free! I appreciate the person who took the time to find and post it, but I think I'll save my money and time and just forget them.
